Jim Mitchell, Co-Founder

Jim Mitchell is the co-founder of lendingcorner.com, a premier online mortgage bank headquartered in Orange County, California. He understood the need for simplicity and transparency in a low cost home loan process and has brought that vision to reality with lendingcorner.com.

Mr. Mitchell has utilized his 14 years in the mortgage industry in pursuit of the best lending practices available. After receiving a California Department of Real Estate broker's license in 1998 he began a successful career in mortgage lending. Early experiences were with a smaller company transitioning into larger lending companies in order to gain more knowledge for his ultimate goal, building a better mortgage company. In 2002 he opened his first mortgage company and grew it to an award winning nationwide mortgage bank with 6 locations across the country.

Mr. Mitchell holds a degree from the University of South Carolina in business marketing and management. Born and raised in a small town in Indiana he was taught the importance of family values, and from those modest beginnings, he developed a competitive spirit that has forged him to the innovation that is lendingcorner.com

Mr. Mitchell calls Corona Del Mar, California home where he has lived for the last 10 years. He is a member of Saddleback Church and attends Mariners Church as well.

Greg Altemus, Co-Founder and President

Greg Altemus brings over 20 years of expertise in the areas of consumer sales, marketing and call center operations to his role as President of lendingcorner.com.

Greg’s core responsibilities will focus around bringing new business development partnerships and strategic alliances that will allow lendingcorner.com to become the Premier Online Mortgage provider in today’s ever changing lending environment.

lendingcorner.com is an online mortgage company pioneering a new technology driven process with an emphases on streamlining home loan transactions by allowing the end user to manage the process by eliminating one of the key components of fraud within our industry the Loan Officer.

Prior to Co-Founding lendingcorner.com, Greg enjoyed a successful and dynamic career in sales and business development earning him many awards including Platinum Club at Home Loan Center / LendingTree and as a Top Producing Senior Financial Consultant for NationPoint / Merrill Lynch.

A Chicago native, Greg now resides in Southern California with his lovely wife and (3) beautiful daughters. Family and leisure time will find him on the softball fields or Volleyball courts encouraging and supporting his daughter’s budding sports careers.

Josh Balbuena, Co-Founder

Utilizing the last 10 years of mortgage banking experience, and more importantly, the changes inflicted in the lending industry due to the sub-prime/prime fallout, Josh Balbuena co-founded lendingcorner.com.

At lendingcorner.com we utilize the home owners savvy experience to allow them to choose their loan program, rate and fees, in one of the most transparent experiences available for the mortgage consumer. By eliminating one of the most visible issues with the lending experience, lendingcorner.com is doing its part to re-establish trust with the everyday home owner and mortgage institutions.

Josh attended school in San Luis Obispo, at both Cuesta Community College and Cal Poly. After 5 years of school, Josh moved down to Long Beach to help put his brother through Long Beach State, where as a member of the school's baseball team, his brother was a starting pitcher for the ‘Dirtbags' in the College World Series.

Josh obtained a CA DRE license and began working for a National Wholesaler as a mortgage banker in 2000. Future growth put Josh in control of his own company for 6 years and was consistently a Broker of Excellence with national lending institutions such as HSBC and GMAC.

Josh grew up in a small town called Tuolumne, in Northern CA, which is about 2 hours from Yosemite National Park. Josh currently resides in Huntington Beach, CA with his wife of 7 years and 11 month old son.
